  • Bromhexine 4 mg +
  • Phenylephrine HC1 2.5 mg +
  • Chlorpheniramine maleate 1.25 mg +
  • Paracetamol 250 mg

Mode of Action

Bromhexine: Mucolytic action liquefies thick mucus and helps clear chest congetion thru mucukinetic action.

Phenylephirine: Nasal Decongustant, causing vasoconstriction, thus relives nasal blockade and runny nose.

Chlorpheniramine maleate: Antihistamine, relives sneezing, itching and rhinorrhea.

Paracetamol: Analgesic-Antipyretic brings down fever and relives pain.

Adverse Effects

Phenylephrine: At usual doses, a reflex bradycardia, CNS effects (excitement, restlessness, headache) and, rarely, arrhythmias are seen. Blood pressure must be monitored to prevent hypertension.

CPM : Most commonly seen adverse effects are CNS depression(lethargy, somnolence and GI effects (diarrhea, vomiting, anorexia). The sedative effects of antihistamines may diminish with time. Anticholinergic effects (dry mouth, urinary retention ) are a possibility.

Bromhexine: Gastrointestinal side effects may occur occasionally with bromhexine and a transient rise in serum aminotransferase values has been reported. Other reported adverse effects include headache, vertigo (dizziness), sweating and allergic reactions.

Paracetamol: Paracetamol only rarely causes gastrointestinal problems or allergic skin reactions.
